Mingzhen Lay Buddhist (Li Mingzhen) is a certified yoga and healing instructor who integrates traditional yoga practice, therapeutic movement, and Buddhist mindfulness to help practitioners reconnect with their body and inner awareness.
With a degree in Sports Rehabilitation from Beijing Sport University, Mingzhen developed a strong foundation in anatomy, movement science, and physical recovery. She later traveled to India and Thailand to study traditional yoga, Ayurveda, and holistic wellness practices, deepening her understanding of the relationship between physical balance and emotional wellbeing.
Her journey with Guanghua Temple began in 2018 when she joined a meditation retreat and encountered the profound wisdom of Tang Esoteric Buddhist traditions. Inspired by the harmony between meditation and mindful movement, she dedicated herself to creating a unique approach that combines Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, breathing practices, and Chan meditation — known as the “Yoga Chan” practice.
Mingzhen specializes in therapeutic yoga postures, breathwork, and integrated mind-body training. Her teaching style is gentle, attentive, and personalized, allowing students of different ages and experience levels to practice safely and confidently.
Through programs such as the Three-Day Yoga Chan Retreat and Mindful Yoga Weekend Course, Mingzhen has guided many participants toward greater relaxation, balance, and self-awareness. Her approach offers a bridge between ancient Eastern wisdom and modern wellness, creating a meaningful experience for those seeking physical renewal and inner peace.
