Venerable Huijue — Meditation Instructor

Venerable Huijue (Shi Huijue) is a Buddhist monk and resident meditation teacher at Guanghua Temple in Longmen, Luoyang. With nearly two decades of monastic practice, he is dedicated to guiding practitioners in discovering inner calm, awareness, and the transformative power of meditation.

Venerable Huijue began his monastic journey in 2006 at Shaolin Temple on Mount Song, Henan. He later studied at Zhenru Chan Temple on Yunju Mountain in Jiangxi, where he devoted himself to the traditional practices of seated meditation, walking meditation, and Chan training. Through years of disciplined practice, he developed a deep understanding of both classical Buddhist teachings and practical methods for modern practitioners.

Since joining Guanghua Temple in 2015, Venerable Huijue has been responsible for designing meditation programs and guiding retreat participants. His teaching combines traditional Chan discipline with a gentle and approachable style. Through clear explanations and patient guidance, he helps students overcome common challenges in meditation, whether they are beginners or experienced practitioners.

He currently leads programs such as the One-Day Zen Retreat and Seven-Day Insight Meditation Retreat, having guided more than 500 participants on their journey into mindfulness and Chan practice. With wisdom, patience, and compassion, Venerable Huijue welcomes visitors from around the world to experience the depth and simplicity of Buddhist meditation.
